I was contacted by Alex Shapiro, from Owl Outsmart, to design a concept for his outdoor hiking camera idea. He intended that the product would serve as a campsite security device at night and an on-demand recorder for hiking during the day. My role as the Industrial Designer was to create a rough concept that he could present to investors and post to his website for his social audience.

Market Landscape & Research

The market lacks cameras specifically designed to keep adventurers safe from dangerous wildlife. Existing cameras are often unattractive and fail to meet the portability requirements for backpackers. Owl Outsmart identified the need for a camera that combines his functional idea with the modern athletic design of a go-pro.
